comments: I just wanted to say thanks to Captain Mick for a wonderful day of fishing. I was with the group that went out on April 30, 2018. PVAF, Paralyzed Veterans of American, Florida Chapter. We arrived, having no problem finding his home. The boat was easily accessible for everyone. You can bring your own fishing gear or he will provide it for you. He also provided all and any assistance, ie; bait, fishing gear and tackle, advice, and plenty of laughs. I can`t say enough about the level of knowledge and service that was extended to each and everyone of us. Thanks again Captain Mick, for an awesome day on the water. Looking forward to our next outing. Have a wonderful and blessed day.

James Harvey, SOG2, has been an avid fisherman all his life. After a fall in June, his foot became severely disabled. After 8 months in hospitals and rehabs, he is now in an assisted living facility, confined to his wheelchair. His one desire was to fish again. He became increasing depressed when he thought that would never happen.. When I told him about you and that you could take his wheelchair aboard, He became so excited. He called me several times a day to confirm that we were going. That it wasn’t a dream. The night before he was so excited he couldn’t eat his dinner. He was so thrilled to be on a boat again and catching fish. He chattered like a magpie all the way home. You should have seen his face when he proudly presented the fish to the people at the ALF. You gave him a new lease on life, now that he knows it’s not so hopeless. I can’t thank you enough. You are performing such a great service. James says he is no longer waiting to die. Now he is waiting to fish again….. THANKYOU Lee Clements

wanted to write to you as soon as I could find a computer to do so ,because I am still on the road .. I am now just south of Atlanta and heading for California to see Norma again…

It was so good to see you and spend time with you thank you again for everything . Would you please forward to the Elks lodge how thankful I am for the fishing trip.. It meant a great deal to me . If you would please forward a little background form me.

I was a Sergeant in the 101st Airborne Div. I headed a recon team and scouted for the First Brigade ,,,1/327 was my unit . I was in the Ashau area of northern Vietnam for ten months .. I was MIA for over 20 days and was in four different hospitals . My home coming to America was at St Albans hospital ini Queens ..We were met with protesters who had an encampment across the street …They would set a gauntlet every time anyone would try to leave the hospital ..They would throw Urine and Feces on us ,while screaming insults at us..

The reception I received from you and Bill made up for so much of that .Bill; was the best and made the adventure more that worth the trip Again thank you ,, the Elks and Bill for everything.. Danny Baker

My wife and i went out for a full day or offshore and shark fishing near islamorada with Mark Gibson as our guide.
Our guide was fantastic he knew everything there was to know about fishing in that part of the world and showed us a really great time. I cant say enough good things about our experience. This is a great program and will give it my recommendation to anyone who will listen.

Hello Jane! I would like to send a huge hug and thank you to you and everyone at the Elks lodge that sponsored me for Joe’s Veteran Sailing course.

I love being on the water, the outdoors.. wether it be scuba, free diving or just cruising on the water..

Sorry I didn’t respond sooner, I just saw this email.. I have just finished the course with joe and I am hungry to continue learning more and more. You guys have provided me with an amazing opportunity to learn to sail and to enjoy the beautiful Florida Keys.. thank you so much , this experience to me has provided more peace and tranquillity than any other VA therapy session I’ve ever received.. I just hope the VA makes Veteran Sailing a go to source for adaptive therapy for veterans.

Because of your amazing support I am interested in becoming a part of the Elks so that I can pay it forward to tiger veterans the way you have done for me.

    Sincerely,
    Raül Lucas

A very special and heartfelt ‘Thank You!’ To Jane, the Elks, and the Vets On The Water organization!

My trip to Theater of the Seas on 22 May was truly enjoyable. It was serene and calming. I really enjoyed learning about the turtle rescues and seeing the lengths they’ve gone to, to make the lives of the turtles more normal. The Dolphins, Sea Lions, and birds were amazing, the alligators and crocodile were too! So much to see. Thank you for the opportunity!

You desire and ability to positively affect the lives of America’s veterans is a very noble cause, and you are making a difference! Keep up the excellent work.

    to me

Theatre of the Sea is a great palace to visit in the Florida Keys. I as a veteran was welcomed there by the very enthusiastic volunteer from Vets On The Water. I and my wife greatly appreciate all she did for us while we were there a week ago. Again Thanks to Vets on the Water.

I want to give a big shout out to Vets on the Water and the Elks as we had an AMAZING time with Capt Mick and Tranquil Adventures/Active Disabled Americans. I was able to go out with a close friend of mine who is in a wheelchair and Capt Mick did everything to make him and I feel like we were special on a fishing trip. We had an amazing day, it made every one of us feel just ……..normal…….I think that is the goal. It does not matter that you have a disability, we were all treated fantastic. I cant say enough thanks to Vets on the Water and Capt Mick with Active Disabled Americans for making our day special.
